Degree in Food Science and Technology, University of Barcelona.  

Diploma in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from the Centre d’Ensenyament Superior de Nutrició i Dietètica (Higher Education Centre for Nutrition and Dietetics), University of Barcelona.  

She was a founding partner and employee of the l’Institut d’Assessorament Dietètic i Nutricional (Institute for Dietary and Nutritional Advice), with management, coordination and teaching roles.  
She is a member of the board of the Consell Català de Producció Agrària Integrada (Catalan Council of Integrated Agricultural Production), representing Unió Cívica de Consumidors i mestresses de casa de Barcelona i Província – UNAE (Civil Union of Consumers and Housewives of Barcelona City and Province) and Federació UNAE Catalunya.  

Anna Burgés has taken part in discussions and given presentations on food, consumption and preventing food waste, at the Associació Catalana de Ciències de l’Alimentació (Catalan Association of Food Science), the Agència Catalana de Seguretat Alimentària (Catalan Food Safety Agency), and at the first conference of the Col.legi de Dietistes-Nutricionistes (Catalan Society of Dieticians and Nutritionists).  

In 2013 she made several consumption-related informative inspection visits in establishments and shopping areas in towns in the province of Barcelona. She attended prior training sessions given by the Provincial Council of Barcelona.  

In 2012 she made pilot consumption-related informative inspection visits in establishments and shopping areas in towns in the province of Barcelona with a new protocol model. She attended prior training sessions given by the Regional Council of Barcelona.  

Her teaching work includes tutoring practical studies on the diploma and/or degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Barcelona and Ramon Llull University (Blanquerna); courses in ‘Nutrition and Dietetics Trainer’ for the unemployed; workshops organised by the Regional Council of Barcelona for children and young people entitled ‘Let’s have breakfast!’, ‘Your diet says a lot about you’, and ‘Not everything you hear is true – dietary myths’; and the diet and food handling module on a vocational training catering course for the unemployed.  

She has given numerous workshops and conferences on topics such as responsible eating and food buying; food and eating for elderly people, their relatives and employees in day centres and homes for the elderly; and food and eating for parents of primary and secondary schoolchildren, among others. She has also given courses on food handling and consumption, first aid and food allergies for school monitors, in-service training on nutrition and diet to manage anorexia, courses on adapting diet to dementia and Alzheimer’s, and food allergens. 

Anna Burgés co-wrote the book "L’alimentació en la gent gran” (‘Food for the Elderly’), commissioned by the Catalan Departament for Social Action and Citizenship, and in 2007 wrote an article on "La dieta triturada” (‘The puréed diet’), published in Hospital Hostelero.

She has given several radio interviews on topics such as organic produce, food safety in the home, functional foods, trans-fats, how to buy safely, and others. 

She also produced the poster "Strategies to prevent children’s obesity”, presented at the 10th World Nutrition Congress in Paris.
