Researcher at IFAPA (Agrarian and Fishing Technologies Research and Education Institute) of the Government of Andalucia.

He was Director of the Center of Cabrils and Head of the Sustainable Plant Protection Program at Institute of Agrofood Research and Technology - IRTA of the Government of Catalonia.

She studied at the University of Granada and got her Doctor degree for her work on plant-parasitic nematodes. During five years she conducted post-doctoral research at Rothamsted Research, United Kingdom, and University of California at Riverside and Davis granted with a Fulbright scholarship.

In 1988, she joined IRTA to develop a new research line on Nematology in Catalonia. Her main areas of expertise are plant resistance and biological control as tools for nematode management. She has been research leader and has coordinated competitive research projects. She has conducted research agreements with numerous seed and chemical companies. She has authored more than a 120 publications including scientific and technical articles and book chapters. She has been an invited speaker in national and international events. She has supervised several PhD and MSc thesis and participated as an invited professor in numerous courses.

She is a member of several scientific organizations, and presently, is the President of the Organization of Nematologists of Tropical America.
