Director of the Department of Chemical and Agriculture Engineering and Agrifood Technology at the University of Girona

Degree in Biological Sciences (Autonomous University of Barcelona) and PhD in Biology (University of Girona).

Currently, he is director of the Department of Chemical and Agriculture Engineering and Agrifood Technology at the University of Girona (UdG).

Senior university lecturer in the area of plant production at the Polytechnic School at UdG.

Researcher in the Institute of Food and Agricultural Technology at UdG and in the Centre for Innovation and Development in Plant Health at UdG (TECNIO-XARTA).

He has served as a visiting professor at the Observatorio per le Malattie delle Piante (Servizio Firosanitario Regionale), in Italy; at the Laboratoire de Pathologie Végétale et Phytobactériologie del Centre de Recherche d’Angers (INRA), in France; and in the Department of Agricultural Production at the Public University of Navarra.

His area of research is plant pathology, and in particular fruit tree diseases. He basically focuses on the handling and epidemiology of fungal and bacterial diseases, and on the development of control tools based on prediction models.
