Doctor of Agricultural Engineering. Currently teaches as a full university professor.

In the last 15 years he has taught courses on crop protection, grapevine fungi and bacteria, grapevine pathology, fungal diseases of horticultural and ornamental plants, and diagnostic methods in plant pathology.

His research has focused on the aetiology, epidemiology and control of diseases caused by pathogenic fungi in vegetable and fruit crops, and in ornamental and forest plants.

As a result of his research he has conducted three six-year research terms, supervised seven doctoral theses and published 130 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
