Agricultural Engineer, majoring in plant science, School of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering, University of Cordoba, 1990-1996.

He is the head of the Plant Health Service at the Directorate-General for Agricultural and Livestock Production.

He was a professor of the programme Improving Olive Oil Quality, years 2000 and 2001, and a conference speaker on soil management in olive groves and integrated olive crop production.

He was an associate professor at the Andalusian Agricultural, Fishery, Food and Organic Production Research and Training Institute (IFAPA) in Los Palacios (Seville), teaching courses to qualify technical officers in integrated cotton production, 2004 and 2005.

He was the director of the summer school course at the International University of Andalusia entitled "Integrated Olive Production and New Environmental Challenges in Agriculture”, September 2010.

He has been the secretary and was a founding member of the Association for Integrated Olive Orchard Production (ATPIOlivar).

He has been the Integrated Control section manager at the Andalusian Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries’ Plant Health Service.

He has been the general manager of Agricultural Production and a technical advisor with the Directorate-General for Agricultural Production and Livestock’s Plant Health Service.
