Doctor of Biological Sciences. Currently works in the Department of Biotechnology and Crop Protection at the Murcia Institute of Food Research and Development (IMIDA).

Prior to this he worked for almost thirty years in the Plant Protection Service at the Regional Ministry of Agriculture and Water for the Region of Murcia, where he was responsible for issues related to pests and diseases in horticultural crops.

He has written several publications on integrated pest management, as well as opinion pieces on emerging trends in plant protection management, the role of field technicians, and matters related to food safety and pest control.

He is heavily involved in knowledge transfer related to plant health in horticultural crops, both nationally and internationally.

Direct contact with the field and its professionals has given him comprehensive knowledge of plant health issues affecting crops in the region and requirements for solutions. His participation in international meetings provides him with a more global perspective on emerging risks and trends in plant health.
